Before coming to your tattoo appointment, please:
Do not pre-numb yourself (this changes the texture of the skin and makes it more difficult to work on). We understand if you are concerned about the pain, but our tattooing techniques are done as gently as possible and generally very tolerable.
Eat beforehand. Avoid caffeine and alcohol (we will not be able to tattoo you if you are under the influence).
Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to adjust or remove in order to reach the tattooing area.
Do not drink alcohol. Avoid alcohol before a tattoo session because it can cause more bleeding, making it harder for us to work and affecting how well the ink stays. It also dries out your skin, increases pain sensitivity, and might cloud your judgment. To help your tattoo turn out its best, skip alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Avoid excessive caffeine Caffeine might be your daily go-to for an energy boost, but it’s best to cut back before your tattoo session. Too much caffeine can heighten feelings of anxiety or restlessness, which may make it harder to stay calm and still during the tattooing process. To ensure a more relaxed experience, consider limiting your caffeine intake or avoiding it altogether on the day of your appointment.
Moisturize your skin Start moisturizing your skin a week before your tattoo appointment to improve ink retention and promote healing. Use a gentle, fragrance-free lotion or tattoo-specific moisturizer. However, avoid applying any lotion on the day of your appointment, as it can interfere with the tattooing process.

Avoid working out right after getting a tattoo. Sweat, friction, and germs can irritate it or cause infection. Exercise can also make the area swell or hurt more. Give it a couple of days to heal before light activity and about a week before intense workouts.

Tattoo Aftercare:
Initial Wrapping:
After your tattoo, your artist will apply a "second skin" adhesive bandage (e.g., Tegaderm or Saniderm). Leave it on for 3-5 days and remove it in the shower when ready.Cleaning & Moisturizing:
Once the bandage is removed:Wash your tattoo 1-2 times daily with a gentle antibacterial soap (e.g., Dial or Cetaphil).
Apply a light layer of ointment (e.g., Aquaphor).
Repeat this routine for 3-5 days until your tattoo stops being dry or flaky.
Avoid These for 2 Weeks:
Sweating
Tanning
Soaking (in pools, baths, or hot tubs)
Any products other than fragrance-free lotion.
